Atmosphères
»Barriers that you set for yourself always lead to static«, says Isfar Sarabski: the musician comes from Baku, and he draws his inspiration from folklore, jazz and the harmonics of classical music. All the concerts in »Atmosphères« show a broad spectrum of influences: Hania Rani's piano sounds flow calmly, Martin Kohlstedt's soundscapes are located between ambient, electronics and classical piano music. The Iranian-Canadian singer and multi-instrumentalist Golnar Shahyar and her trio combine polyrhythmic grooves, microtonal modes and chamber music. Influenced by Keith Jarrett is Dutch pianist Pieter de Graaf, whose synth sounds also include a spark of Bach. Lukas Lauermann and Marilies Jagsch explore new sound spaces in their latest albums »Interploitation« and »I am« respectively.
