Opening Concert Wien Modern

Instead of an opening speech, music will have the first word from the very beginning this time: The concert will open with the powerful, graphically notated »Threnos« of Krzysztof Penderecki, written when he was 27, and it will end with in with the large-scale »IV. Symphonie« by the Vienna-based composer Jorge E. López whose calligraphic score fills around 200 A1 and A2 size pages and which the composer himself has described as a sort of »morphed Bruckner«. In addition, there will be Haas' precision work für Mike Svoboda, which only just received its world premiere in Donaueschingen.
