Experience captivating images and brilliant sounds in our film series: »More Hitchcock than Hitchcock himself« was the critics' verdict on the crime drama »A cottage on Dartmoor« by British director Anthony Asquith. The all-rounder Benny Omerzell adapts the tragic love triangle with piano and electronics. With the Nibelungenlied, Fritz Lang brought the »spiritual sanctuary of a nation« to the screen. His epic two-parter, which will be shown on two consecutive evenings, is a milestone in German film. Under Frank Strobel, the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra interprets the epochal original music by Gottfried Huppertz. The PHACE ensemble plays Martin Matalon's trenchant composition for the grotesquely funny »Oyster Princess« by comedy genius Ernst Lubitsch. And jazz pianist Gabriel Cazes takes up the pursuit of Louis Feuillade's cunning crook »Fantômas« with trumpeter Nicolas Giraud.
