Powerful St. Matthew Passion
A collaboration that carries a quarter-century of success can be
experienced at the Vienna Konzerthaus in early April: Franz Welser-Möst
conducted the Vienna Philharmonic for the first time in 1998. Since
then, this collaboration has been a guarantee for extraordinary concert
experiences. Such an experience is in store when he takes on Bach's »St.
Matthew Passion« with the orchestra, the Arnold Schoenberg Choir and a
top-class cast of soloists, including Julian Prégardien: one of the most
impressive works of sacred music, which Bach wrote for the Vespers
service on Good Friday in 1727.
