Information for your barrier-free visit

People with disabilities should be able to take part in artistic events at the Wiener Konzerthaus easily and as independently as possible. All halls are accessible via lifts. Special wheelchair spaces are available in all four concert halls and can be booked at special rates - with or without a companion - online when purchasing tickets or by telephone or in person at our Ticket and Service Centre.

Barrier-free main entrance
You can access the entrance foyer via our main entrance at Lothringerstraße 20 without steps, with an entrance door width of 140 cm.

Barrier-free lifts
All halls are accessible via lifts. The following lifts are available:

  • Lift in the Lothringerstraße intermediate foyer: access to the »Berio-Saal«, New Salon and »Großer Saal« (Cercle, Parterre and Estraden seats); access to the »Schubert-Saal« and»Großer Saal« (balcony and box seats)
  • Lift in the cloakroom hall Mozart-Saal: access to the Mozart-Saal (armchair, cercle and parterre seats as well as balcony left and balcony right)
  • Glass lift from the »Berio-Saal« buffet, intermediate foyer, main staircase of the »Großer Saal« (level with the entrance to the EssDur restaurant) and the foyers of the »Großer Saal«: access to the »Großer Saal« (cercle, parterre and terraces as well as balcony and gallery seats), »Mozart-Saal« (parterre seats) and »Schubert-Saal«

Disabled parking spaces

  • 2 parking spaces are located directly in front of the Ticket & Service Centre, Lothringerstraße 20
  • 3 parking spaces are located directly in front of the Akademietheater, Lisztstraße 2
  • 8 parking spaces are located at Am Heumarkt 31-33
  • 7 parking spaces are located at Am Heumarkt 27-29

Wheelchair spaces

  • up to 18 seats in the »Großer Saal«: Estrade left and right, 3rd and 4th block
  • 6 seats in the »Mozart-Saal«: 5 seats in the rear parterre; 1 seat on the balcony on the left
  • 3 seats in the »Schubert-Saal«: at the back left
  • 4 seats in the »Berio-Saal« (positioning depends on the respective hall situation)

     

Wheelchair spaces are available at all events organised by the Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft at a price of € 12. A companion receives a 50% discount for a seat in the immediate vicinity.
To order a wheelchair space via our website, click on "Buy tickets" for the event of your choice, then on "Order wheelchair space" under the price categories. If the icon and the lettering are not displayed here, there are no more wheelchair spaces available for the event.

Visitors with visual impairments
If you require assistance on site, please contact our Audience Service directly. Our Audience Service will be happy to assist you by accompanying you to your seat and providing other assistance.

Assistance dogs
If you are attending a concert with an assistance dog, please register in advance at the Ticket and Service Center in order to guarantee the availability of appropriate seats.

Barrier-free toilet facilities
The Wiener Konzerthaus has five toilets equipped for the disabled, which can be opened by Eurokey and have an emergency call system:

  • 2nd basement floor: Berio-Saal toilet facilities (access via the lift in the Lothringerstraße foyer)
  • Ground floor: Lothringerstraße intermediate foyer next to the lift
  • Intermediate floor: Intermediate foyer Schubert-Saal staircase next to the elevator
  • 1st floor: Estradengang on the right (between Großer Saal and Schubert-Saal) next to the elevator
