The multi-talented Aurel Dawidiuk

The young organist impresses both on the pedals and at the conductor's desk: Aurel Dawidiuk is not only an organist of exceptional virtuosity, but also First Associate Conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Concert appearances have taken him to the organs of the Tonhalle Zurich and the Cologne Philharmonie, among others.

First encounters with music
He had his first musical awakening at the age of five at a performance of the »Magic Flute«, where he was enthralled by the conductor, orchestra and music. He also came into contact with the organ at an early age: his mother sang in the church choir and the instrument, with its manuals, stops and pedals, seemed to him like the cockpit of an aeroplane. His studies took him to Hanover and Zurich; He also gained formative experience in Vienna, where an internship with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra under chief conductor Cornelius Meister gave him an intensive insight into orchestral work.

Debut on the Rieger organ
In the Great Hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus, Aurel Dawidiuk devotes himself to the queen of instruments and presents works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Zsigmond Szathmáry, Franz Liszt, Charles Tournemire and César Franck – - an impressive journey through several centuries of organ literature.
