»Der g'schupfte Ferdl geht Tauben vergiften im Park«
A light-hearted tribute to two brilliant singer-songwriters
At first they were friends, but later they fell out: Gerhard Bronner and Georg Kreisler. Both were born in Vienna in 1922; both had to flee the city and later returned. They earned their living through entertainment. Gerhard Bronner, born in Favoriten, wrote songs such as »Der g’schupfte Ferdl« or »Der Papa wird’s schon richten«, whilst Georg Kreisler penned »Taubenvergiften« and »Wien ohne Wiener«.
A successful anniversary programme
Following the huge success of his programme marking the 100th anniversary of the brilliant songwriters in 2022, Bela Koreny is staging »Der g’schupfte Ferdl goes to poison pigeons in the park« once again. The well-known, charismatic Viennese actors Wolf Bachofner and Karl Markovics will be singing, along with Ethel Merhaut and Julia Stemberger, and Katharina Stemberger will be reading.
