Tabea Zimmermann in a quintet
Deutschlandfunk recently described her as the »undisputed queen of the viola«: Tabea Zimmermann. She became the youngest university professor at the age of 21 and has now been one of the best violists for four decades. Chamber music is particularly important to the versatile musician. She can be heard with the Belcea Quartet in string quintets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johannes Brahms – good opportunities to deepen her knowledge. Zimmermann greatly appreciates this aspect of music-making: »After all, concerts are also about giving time, not taking it away«, she says in an interview.
