London one hundred years ago

Virginia Woolf wrote novel history with »Mrs Dalloway«, published in 1925: Based on a dense web of thoughts of 52-year-old Clarissa Dalloway and other characters such as a traumatised war veteran, she traces a day in June 1923 from eight in the morning until three in the morning. At the same time, she creates a panorama of London society after the First World War.

Read by Birgit Minichmayr, with sounds by Dorian Concept

The reading by Birgit Minichmayr, who has just been nominated for a ROMY, is complemented by Viennese musician and producer Dorian Concept with electronics and synthesiser. With his sounds, which merge with jazz and ambient, he provides an appropriate musical perspective to the text, which is very modern for its time.
