The unique homage to the music of the great Italian composer is enriched by new works –, mostly less well-known but of great beauty, from Maestro Morricone's boundless repertoire. This is how the new programme »Alla scoperta di Morricone«.

It is not just a concert, but a journey of words, impressions and solo performances that take the audience through the decades that have made Italian and international cinema and music great. The incredible journey began with the melodies that have remained in the collective memory of generations, with the evocative power of »Mission«, »The Legend of the Pianist on the Ocean«, »Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod«, »Cinema Paradico«, »The Hateful 8«, »Es War einmal In Amerika«, »Für ein paar Dollar mehr«, »Malena«, which has characterised the activities of the Ensemble Symphony Orchestra in recent seasons, continues with other works such as »The Incorruptible«, »La Califfa«, »Making Love«, »Investigating a Citizen Above Suspicion« and provides an important space for the great titles written for artists such as Dulce Pontes, Amii Stewart, Joan Baez and Mina in a new symphonic version.

500 soundtracks, 70 million records sold worldwide, six nominations and two Oscars won, three Grammys, four Golden Globes and a Golden Lion make Ennio Morricone the greatest composer of film music of all time. Hence the idea of the Ensemble Symphony Orchestra, one of Italy's figureheads, to honour the maestro.
The ensemble is focussing on Morricone's music, having already worked with important national and international artists: Mario Biondi, Max Gazzè, Franco Battiato, Giovanni Allevi, Renato Zero, Francesco Renga, Pooh, Baustelle, PFM, Andrea Bocelli, Sting, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Nile Rodgers, Sam Smith, Luis Bacalov. With more than six hundred concerts in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, France, Austria, the United Kingdom and Belgium, the orchestra presents great versatility, moving confidently in all genres, with a repertoire that ranges from the most famous opera arias to world-famous film scores, from »Frozen« to »Harry Potter«.
This tribute will feature soloists from major Italian theatres and symphonic institutions, such as the cello of Maestro Ferdinando Vietti and the trumpet of Maestro Stefano Benedetti. A special guest will be the soprano Anna Delfino, a favourite of European opera audiences, who will revive the emotions of Deborah's theme from »Once Upon a Time in America«, and the violinist Attila Simon from Cirque du Soleil, who will play the solo from »Love Affair«.
