Federspiel

The Federspiel wind ensemble has always been characterised by a wide variety of artistic practices. Despite all this diversity, one constant remains: the musicians of the ensemble, which was founded in Krems in 2004, pay attention to their personal relationships and dynamics. Parallel to their intensive musical work, the musicians always keep an eye on the »we«.

Federspiel's new album
The title of the new album and concert programme »Wir und Jetzt« sums this up perfectly. The compositions revolve around a concept that for Federspiel is far more than a mere sum of individuals: »We encompasses the knowledge and ideas of all generations before us. We here and now are only the youngest in an infinite series of annual rings, each of which has its own story to tell«. And that brings us to »now«, which for the Septet means: the right commitment, the right timing and the magic of the moment of each performance. This narrow strip between past and future must be utilised. »Only now are we«, say the musicians. Those who let themselves in for this precious moment can look forward to a virtuoso and moving concert.
