»EARTHEANA« sees itself as a world symphony. Connected by a leitmotif, it leads through all continents, inspired by the music of different cultures. For Gandalf, music is a language that connects all the peoples of the world. In his current composition, the artist, who has been internationally successful for more than four decades, follows his vision of overcoming boundaries between common clichés and styles.
Gandalf found a congenial partner to bring his musical journey around the world to the stage in Martin Gellner. As a composer, music producer and conductor, he specialises in crossover orchestral music. In 2018, he conducted »Hollywood in Vienna«, works with Hans Zimmer and other top composers from the US music scene and numerous other artists. The Big Island Orchestra was founded in 2020 by Martin Gellner and violist Lena Fankhauser. It interprets music from baroque to contemporary – classical, film music, world and crossover. For example, the B.I.O. recorded the soundtrack to Borat Subsequent Movie (Oscar-nominated, Golden Globe 2021).
