Gibran Alcocer is one of the most influential and emotionally moving contemporary composers and pianists of his generation. The 23-year-old hails from Yucatán, Mexico, and has been surrounded by music since childhood: he began with piano lessons and a classical education, and by the age of 12 he was already showing a distinct talent for composition and production. His music – which is deeply intimate and cinematic – has achieved something rare: it transcends languages, cultures and algorithms, thus becoming a universal language of emotion.
With millions of listeners worldwide and over 1 billion streams on digital platforms, Gibran has built a global audience without following the industry’s traditional rules. He made his breakthrough in 2022 when he went viral on TikTok, where he shares his creative process and compositions, which quickly struck a chord with a new generation. Today, his minimalist, honest and emotionally charged music is featured in millions of pieces of content – particularly in short-form formats, where it has become the soundtrack to countless personal stories. His work has also been championed by DJs at international festivals and recognised by Grammy-winning producers such as Tainy, who invited him to collaborate. Furthermore, he has collaborated with contemporary artists such as Andrea Vanzo and SYML. This digital resonance has carried over into the live arena, with sold-out concerts across Europe, including at iconic venues such as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and the Berlin Philharmonie.
