Do you enjoy being surprised and are you ready for musical adventures? Then we recommend the concert by Graindelavoix featuring Mannerist music. Not everything »sounded beautiful« and balanced in the 16th century. The High Renaissance period is actually quite narrow, as the aim soon emerged of shocking the audience and achieving maximum effect – through breaking the rules and exaggeration. Painters distorted perspectives, whilst composers used dissonant notes as »special effects«. Where is a harmony heading? You never know in advance with musical experimenters like Carlo Gesualdo!
