Hubert von Goisern X Lungau Big Band

Hubert von Goisern is adding another chapter to his tour: following »Too Quiet?« and »Too Loud!«, this autumn he will be performing songs from his repertoire spanning over three decades with the Lungau Big Band. »With the big band, I get to enjoy something quite special. I sit right in the middle of the orchestra, so I have the best seat in the house and get to rediscover my songs«, says the musician happily.

Von Goisern songs on a grand scale
The musical bridge between the two worlds is Burkhard Frauenlob: he played in Hubert von Goisern’s band for many years and is also the pianist and arranger for the Lungau Big Band. He is responsible for the majority of the arrangements for the joint programme. »I never would have thought that my sound would fit so well into this format«, says von Goisern. »The song  ›Herschauen‹, for example, was written in 2007 on the river cruise, with a Bulgarian Roma troupe on board – the whole Balkan brass sound comes from there. When I hear it now with the big band, I’m transported straight back to the Danube.« The Lungau Big Band last performed alongside Hubert von Goisern in 2023. We can look forward with particular excitement to this renewed collaboration between the renowned jazz ensemble and the pioneer of Alpine rock!
