Brand new in the original language

Jacqueline Kornmüller has made a name for herself above all through the award-winning »Ganymed«-series, which she directed at the Kunsthistorisches Museum and, in its latest instalment, at the Otto Wagner Areal in the Steinhofgründe –; the theatre director is now also enjoying success as a writer.

Jacqueline Kornmüller reads from »The Woman in the Wardrobe«

In her poetic and enchanting novel »The Woman in the Cupboard«, Kornmüller tells the story of DU, a young actor who has just been hired and who shares a room in a friend’s flat with a tower of books, a sense of loneliness and an old cupboard with a life of its own: When the wardrobe’s jammed door opens, DU discovers all manner of mementoes inside, along with a photograph of a young woman …

Jacqueline Kornmüller’s latest work is about chance and destiny – whilst Jacqueline Kornmüller narrates and the actor Peter Wolf, alias DU, hosts the event, Mona Matbou Riahi and Peter Rom provide musical accompaniment for the congenial duo.
