25 YEARS OF JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH MUSIC SCHOOL – THE ANNIVERSARY HIGHLIGHT A quarter of a century full of music and passion After a whole year of festive concerts, the Johann Sebastian Bach Music School (JSBM) crowns its 25th anniversary with the absolute highlight: a magnificent concert at the Vienna Konzerthaus on 2 October 2025. This special evening will take the audience on a musical journey through unique worlds of sound –, from classical masterpieces to contemporary world premieres. Pieces composed especially for this concert, such as Human Zoo by Nefeli Anastassiou and Lilac & Gold by Jonathan Andrew Davis, underline the vibrancy and creativity that have characterised the JSBM for a quarter of a century. Under the direction of teaching staff and guest conductors, JSBM students and guests from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) will present their skills. The programme ranges from John Williams' rousing Olympic Fanfare and Theme to Piazzolla's passionate Fuga y Misterio and magical arrangements from The Hobbit and How to Train Your Dragon. Other highlights include Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar Overture and the virtuoso Polonaise de Concert by David Popper with soloist Nicolas Altenburger. This concert is not only a celebration of music, but also a celebration of the community that has sustained the JSBM for 25 years. Experience the enthusiasm and talent of the young musicians and let yourself be enchanted by an unforgettable evening full of emotions and musical highlights.
