The big farewell concert at the Wiener Konzerthaus
With this special evening, the Maria Ma Terzett ft. Ulli Bäer bid farewell to a unique concert project – and invite you to a final, emotional musical gathering at the Wiener Konzerthaus. The big farewell concert is all about paying homage to Georg Danzer on his 80th anniversary, whose songs, thoughts and musical spirit can be experienced once again in new depth and intensity on this evening.
What began as an extraordinary musical encounter comes to a deliberate conclusion here: Vienna meets Tyrol, the art of songwriting meets the sounds of the dulcimer, memory meets the present. Together with their fellow musicians, Maria Ma and Ulli Bäer look back on a project that has shed new light on Danzer's work with respect, independence and creative freedom.
The Maria Ma Terzett, consisting of Maria Ma (dulcimer), Christian Einheller (drums) and Mischa Krausz (bass), will once again be joined on this last evening by Ulli Bäer –, the musician who was a friend, guitarist and companion of Georg Danzer for many years. Together they will interpret selected Danzer songs for the last time in this formation – in a personal, reduced and full of musical nuances.
The focus is not only on well-known works, but also on those songs that often stood apart from the big hits and therefore develop a special closeness and depth. The farewell concert thus becomes a musical retrospective, a conscious pause and a thank you to Georg Danzer and his work.
The unmistakable sound of the evening is characterised by the dulcimer arrangements by Maria Ma, who lends this instrument a contemporary, emotional voice. In combination with Ulli Bäer's vocals and guitar, an atmosphere is created that evokes memories without being nostalgic – lively, honest and touching.
This concert is a last joint storytelling, a musical farewell and an invitation to experience Georg Danzer's songs once again in all their power.
