Since its founding in New York in 2008, the Mivos Quartet has made it its mission to bring the incredible diversity of contemporary string quartet music to an equally diverse audience around the globe.
A diverse programme in the cycle »Nouvelles Aventures«
Following acclaimed performances at Wien Modern and jazz concerts at the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Mivos Quartet is now making its long-awaited debut in the »Nouvelles Aventures« cycle. The programme features works by six female composers, including a world premiere by the versatile Sofia Jernberg, who has attracted international attention as a composer and vocalist between new music and jazz. Ingrid Laubrock, saxophonist, and Flora Marlene Geißelbrecht, violist and vocalist, also contribute their musical perspectives to this programme, which makes the diversity of the quartet's current output tangible.
