A Schubert Song Contest
A spectacular crossover project by the Musicbanda Franui: »The Great Schubert Affair« is the song contest in which Franz Schubert emerges victorious. His works are reinterpreted across the genres of classical, pop, jazz and Viennese Lieder.
Celebrity participants
The participants in this Franui event are: mezzo-soprano Anja Mittermüller, bass-baritone Florian Boesch and tenor Julian Prégardien. Karl Markovics sings. The duo Oliver Welter (singer with the cult band Naked Lunch) & Clara Frühstück tackles »Winterreise« in a radical way. With the Strottern, Anna Mabo & the Buben, Daniel Heide and The Erlkings as further guests, »Die große Schubertsache« to be a concert that is as formidable as it is diverse, in honour of the Viennese master of the lied.
