She came with a handful of sand and won the hearts of her audience with her extraordinary talent. Irina Titova is the »Queen of Sand« and knows like no other how to bring the fleetingness of the moment to the screen for a magical moment. She captivated her audience back in 2018, taking them on a sensational journey »Around the World in 80 Pictures« and will now finally make many eyes light up in 2026 with a new sand painting show.
Once upon a time in Hollywood
Once upon a time in »The Fabulous World of Film«. The audience accompanies a young man on his exciting journey and is immersed in the most beautiful and famous film scenes from the Hollywood dream factory. At breathtaking speed, the Sand Queen creates her images on a glass screen illuminated from below and projected onto a screen. Here, the protagonist made of sand meets all the big and small heroes of our favourite films. He meets the alien E.T., who desperately wants to phone home, and comforts him with true friendship in his homesickness. He flies across the oceans with the lucky dragon Falkor from the »Neverending Story«, travels with Marty McFly and Doc Brown in the DeLorean »Back to the Future«, listens to the famous song in »Casablanca« with Ingrid Bergman once again, and finally eats chocolates as Forrest Gump on the legendary park bench. And maybe he'll meet the girl of his dreams afterwards, help her carry the watermelon and they'll dance to a happy ending together?
Forrest Gump's mum always said that life is like a box of chocolates. The sand artist's show is also surprising: you never know what's coming next. Irina Titova's hands and the sand are in constant motion as she trickles it onto the disc with impressive precision and breathes life into it. The scenes flow skilfully into one another, surprising, inspiring, enchanting and, in passing, the audience also learns the story of Hollywood's origins.
Accompanied by the unmistakable voice of the internationally renowned German film star Sky Du Mont as narrator and the famous melodies of Hollywood's most sought-after composers such as Klaus Badelt, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Alan Silvestri and Giorgio Moroder, the talented artist creates an absolutely unique atmosphere. As with »80 Bilder um die Welt« –, Katrin Edtmeier is the director and author of this fabulous journey through the world of film.
Between beautiful memories of the unforgettable scenes and the bittersweet melancholy that nothing is permanent, the audience savours the fascination of the moment with every grain of sand. Did our young hero really experience all this or did he just dream it? One thing is certain: the story is too good not to be true.
