Musical education between Tbilisi, Berlin and Geneva

Giorgi Gigashvili studied at the State Conservatory in Tbilisi, then with Kirill Gerstein at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and with Nelson Goerner in Geneva. Even as a teenager, he was enthusiastic about singing and arranging Georgian folk songs and pop songs. At the age of just 13, he won the Georgian edition of the casting show »The Voice« – and almost embarked on a pop career.

Pianist with an unmistakable sound
Despite his early success as a pop singer, Gigashvili opted for the piano and developed into a multi-award-winning artist. Today, he is a BBC New Generation Artist (2023–25) and a Rising Star of the European Concert Hall Organisation (2025/26). His playing combines classical music with folkloristic, electronic and experimental elements. At the Wiener Konzerthaus, he presents works by Chopin, Brahms, Ravel, Schumann and Natalie Beridze and performs Georgian folk songs together with singer Nini Nutsubidze.
