Music from the here and now

The Trio Abstrakt is like a declaration of love to new chamber music: for over eight years, the ensemble has dedicated itself to challenging contemporary chamber music from the last three decades with the utmost precision and dedication. As the creative home of musicians Salim(a) Javaid (saxophone), Marlies Debacker (piano) and Alexandre Silva (percussion), the trio combines chamber music tradition with a constant exploration of the here and now. For its debut at the Wiener Konzerthaus, the highly active global ensemble has selected brand new pieces by composers of different nationalities and generations, which were dedicated to it and recently premiered by it. The programme is rounded off with a trio by the Greek-French old master Georges Aperghis, composed twelve years ago.
