The promotion of young musical talent is a particular concern of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. Every season since 2021, together with the youth music competition »prima la musica«, they have awarded the WSY Talent Prize for young musicians and invited exceptional musical talents aged 14 to 19 to join them on stage to make music.
In June, a jury will select the 2026 prizewinners, who will work with conductor Petre Schreiber and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra to prepare a solo piece with orchestra for the concert and perform it in public at the Wiener Konzerthaus on 11 October 2026.
