Festkonzerte der Wiener Symphoniker

​The »Festkonzerte der Wiener Symphoniker« celebrate nothing other than the music itself: this time, the traditional performance of Bach's Christmas Oratorio is in the capable hands of early music expert Fabio Biondi. The program continues with Bach music that is far removed from early music, as Lorenzo Viotti presents a modern orchestral arrangement of the Chaconne from his 2nd Partita for solo violin. Honorary Konzerthaus member Rudolf Buchbinder conducts three of his favorite Mozart concertos from the piano. And finally, two particularly popular pieces will delight us: Under the direction of their Principal Guest Conductor Marie Jacquot, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra will perform Bruckner's most successful symphony from the outset and Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto with audience favorite Bomsori Kim as the soloist.
