Description
The who's who at the Rieger organ: top organists make the colours of the queen of instruments shine. Vincent Dubois, titular organist of Notre-Dame, celebrates the start of the cycle with French repertoire from the 19th and 20th centuries, as if made for the Rieger organ at the Wiener Konzerthaus. Wayne Marshall celebrates the art of the organ – on keys and pedals with improvisation, Liszt's Fantasy and Fugue on the theme B-A-C-H and works by Messiaen. Organ star Iveta Apkalna brings music from her Latvian homeland as well as compositions from Bach to Schumann and Gubaidulina to Escaich. A newcomer introduces himself to the Viennese audience: Jan Liebermann, who has won numerous prizes, attracted the attention of organ fans with his interpretation of Bach's trio sonatas. In his concert, he will give an insight into the diversity of his repertoire, from Bach to Wagner and Liszt to Karg-Elert. A feast in all registers!
