Description
Hear how beats cut the air, feel how rhythm grips the soul! This cycle is an adrenaline rush of marimbas, vibraphones and drums. Vivi Vassileva's programme includes the percussion concerto »Sieidi«, which – with seven performances at the Vienna Konzerthaus since 2015 – is now part of the standard repertoire of all percussion soloists. Christoph Sietzen is bringing Rautavaara's intense percussion concerto to the Wiener Konzerthaus for the first time. He will be accompanied by the Vienna Volksoper Orchestra under the direction of Yoel Gamzou, who will add dance to the programme. »Environ Us« by Manu Delago is an audiovisual work with field recordings of nature, percussive sounds and electronics. It sensitises us to our immediate environment and brings the outside world directly into the concert hall.
