Ad multos annos! An honorary member of the Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft celebrates its fortieth anniversary: The members of Quatuor Mosaïques got to know each other at Concentus Musicus and decided to let the string quartet repertoire shine in the light of historical performance practice – a rare aesthetic ideal that continues to delight audiences to this day. This season, the ensemble will perform masterpieces of the supreme chamber music discipline by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven as well as Romantic masterpieces by the young Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. The Quatuor Mosaïques welcomes Sir András Schiff as a prominent guest, with whom it presents Schumann's genre-defining Piano Quintet in E flat major op. 44.
