Description

Waltzes, galops and marches from the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, interpreted with charm and flair: this is what the Symphonic Schrammel Quintet Vienna has been offering at the Wiener Konzerthaus for over 25 years. With its original Schrammel line-up, the ensemble revives an important cultural asset of Austrian music history. Popular pieces and rarities by Johann Strauss father and son are performed alongside works by their contemporaries Joseph Lanner, Carl Michael Ziehrer and, last but not least, the Schrammel brothers. Guests Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz and Katharina Straßer also bring the right amount of humour, expertise and love for Schrammel music.
