Description

Once around the world and back to Lothringerstraße – this cycle invites you on a musical journey around the world. Five-time Grammy award winner Angélique Kidjo, hailed by Time magazine as »Africa's leading diva«, combines West African tradition with R&B, funk, jazz and Latin American rhythms. Her album »Hope« ignites a veritable firework of sound. LINA_, pioneer of modern fado, and jazz pianist Marco Mezquida from Menorca fuse tradition and innovation. »O Fado« unfolds Portuguese longing and powerful rhythms. After her colourful debut in 2022, Lila Downs returns to the Wiener Konzerthaus with a new album. The Latin Grammy award-winning singer combines indigenous Mexican music with modern influences to create an authentic sound full of soul. And Cantautore Vinicio Capossela presents piano ballads in which Italian culture meets personal stories.
