»Great Voices«

At long last, Rolando Villazón returns with an aria evening! The public's darling and the sought-after Russian Bass Ildar Abdrazakov perform arias and duets from French and Italian operas by Gaetano Donizetti, Charles Gounod, Arrigo Boito and Giuseppe Verdi. That both singers are real stage personalities, one as charismatic as the other, is something that this programme brings to the fore. The men's duets are not all about love, but about friendship or even animosity. The composers frequently set such scenes to extraordinary music. The Mexican tenor surely needs no introduction, as he probably one of the most famous tenors in the world. Ildar Abdrazakov, whose bass is as powerful as it is elegant and agile, also performs in the world’s most important houses, from La Scala in Milan to the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Salzburg Festival, where he made his debut in 2009 under the baton of Riccardo Muti. The combination of these two impressive singer personalities promises to be a real vocal highlight!
