Alexandre Kantorow
Pianist
Alexandre Kantorow rose to the heights of pianistic fame with his large-scale romantic piano concertos – before he was even 25 years old. In 2019, Kantorow, who was born in Clermont-Ferrand, won first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. Since then, he has been performing on concert stages around the world. Described as a »fiery virtuoso with poetic charm and innate stylistic mastery« (Gramophone Magazine), he will perform Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under Manfred Honeck and Bártok’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Budapest Festival Orchestra under Iván Fischer. He strikes classical and impressionistic notes in his duo evening with violinist Sergej Khachatryan.
