Music, acrobatics, dance and performance – a colourful mix awaits you here! In »TempoS«, the cello, clarinet, dance and acrobatics come together to create a piece exploring time, rhythm and life. In »Berge flüstern laut«, the violin and recorder tell tales of legends, magic and mysterious heights. It’s all about musical puzzles and codes with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra: under the baton of Tabita Berglund and with music educator Katharina Osztovics, they present Edward Elgar’s mysterious »Enigma« Variations. And in early June, just before the holidays, students on the Master’s programme in Contemporary Arts Practice will celebrate summer with lively, cool sounds!

4 concerts at Großer Saal, with introductory sessions in the Schönberg-Saal, the Wotruba-Salon or the New Salon during the first half of each concert

Music invites us to explore hidden worlds of sound. This naturally applies to the works in this cycle as well: Beethoven’s Third Symphony sets out on new musical paths. Mahler’s Fifth oscillates between sorrow and joy. Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 takes us on a journey to distant lands and is not without reason nicknamed »From the New World«. And behind Elgar’s »Enigma« Variations lie exciting puzzles waiting to be unravelled. During the first half of the concert, our young audience will learn about the details and background of the works in age-appropriate workshops.
