An exuberant joy of making music
With Philharmonic Five, the audience can take a leisurely stroll through genres, styles and eras. Four soloists from the ranks of the Vienna Philharmonic, alongside a magnificent pianist, captivate audiences with their virtuosity, modern expressive dynamism and a unique sonic aesthetic. The refined Viennese style further enhances their multifaceted repertoire.
From Brahms to Bartók to Ziehrer
Both chamber music enthusiasts and those with a passion for the fine art of arrangement will find themselves in the right place here: this time, Philharmonic Five turn their attention to a masterpiece of chamber music – Brahms’s only piano quintet. In the second half of the programme, the ensemble follows the course of the Danube – with picturesque soundscapes by Béla Bartók, Carl Michael Ziehrer, Leopold Godowsky and others.
