Imagine: a song contest in which Franz Schubert is celebrated as the winner! Musicbanda Franui & Friends, including Florian Boesch and Anna Mabo, present a wide variety of perspectives on Franz Schubert to ignite his masterpieces into a rousing celebration of sound. Handel's »Messiah« combines jazz, gospel, rock and funk in the gospel adaptation by Bob Christianson and Gary Anderson. And the legendary Orpheus Chamber Orchestra with superstar Branford Marsalis will be performing classics such as Duke Ellington and George Gershwin as well as a new saxophone concerto by Jeff Beal. Mnozil Brass inspires in »Jubelei!« – a joyful triumph of brass artistry.
