Klavier im Großen Saal

Excellent pianists take their place on the podium at »Klavier im Großen Saal«: we welcome illustrious regular guests Martha Argerich, who is now performing with Sophie Pacini for the second time as a pianistic duo, as well as the sound magicians Grigory Sokolov and Arcadi Volodos and Rudolf Buchbinder, who is particularly revered by Viennese audiences. Sir András Schiff opens the finely conceived cycle with his »Schubertiade«. As renowned representatives of the younger generation, we will be honored by Víkingur Ólafsson, who, after the breathtaking »Goldberg Variations« in winter 2023, will now perform Beethoven's late Sonata op. 109 as well as works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Johannes Brahms, among others, and Jan Lisiecki, who will take us on a journey through the history of dance – as a grand finale to a seven-part celebration of piano music!
