Description

When the architectural firm Fellner & Helmer completed the Vienna Konzerthaus as one of its last projects in 1913, the programmatic »Meistersinger«-quote »Ehrt eure deutschen Meister« on the façade was standard, so to speak. This brochure shows on almost every page just how far the actual programme in this house has since gone beyond this stipulation; but on this double page, to paraphrase Goethe, the indescribable has finally been done and the façade motto has become reality: on five weekends, you have the opportunity to immerse yourself not only sensually but also intellectually in the music of Haydn, Beethoven, Wagner, Bruckner and Strauss. The fact that Mozart and Brahms are also included on a sensual level rounds off the whole experience perfectly.
