Description

A concert, a world tour: »Around the world in 80 minutes«, the Philharmonic Five ensemble travels around the world, performing music from several continents. Boundless curiosity and a great openness to a wide variety of genres and styles are well-known trademarks of the chamber music ensemble led by violinist Tibor Kováč: arrangements of popular works are an integral part of the recipe for success alongside »classical« literature for piano quintet. The ensemble also pays tribute to those composers who themselves moved between styles: Johann Strauss (son), Fritz Kreisler and Friedrich Gulda. »Film off!« is the motto of the last concert in the cycle, which features music by Hans Zimmer, Nino Rota and others.
