Description

The Rising Stars of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) fascinate with their talent and verve, bringing tradition and avant-garde together. The Javus Quartet juxtaposes the world premiere of Oscar Jockel's string quartet with the »classic« Haydn and music by the Mendelssohn siblings. Soprano Camila Mandillo devotes herself to Messiaen's »Chants de terre et de ciel« as well as works by composers Ruth Schönthal and Bushra El-Turk. Cellist Petar Pejčić's programme is equally imaginative, featuring a fiery tango, Piazzolla's sonatas by Britten and Prokofiev and Nadia Boulanger's »Trois pièces« – and, of course, a contemporary work.
