Andrey Boreyko, chief conductor designate Markus Poschner, Ingo Metzmacher, cycle debutante Elena Schwarz and former chief conductor Marin Alsop are the conductors leading the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra in the 2025/26 season. Established and up-and-coming instrumentalists dedicate themselves to virtuoso solo concertos: Gautier Capuçon performs Thierry Escaich's 2nd Cello Concerto, Emmanuel Pahud gives the Austrian premiere of a flute concerto by Erkki-Sven Tüür, Lucas Debargue performs with orchestra for the first time in Vienna and Maria Ioudenitch is one of our »Great Talents«. The program ranges from late Romanticism to Impressionism (with ballet music by Debussy and Ravel) and from classical modernism to the present day, including a brand new work by John Adams.
