Description
Folk music in colorful »varieties«: This is where tradition meets modernity! To kick things off, both Sigrid Horn & das Nest and the Ladin band Ganes present harmonious sounds and lyrics as life writes them. The Bravour Schrammeln bring Schrammel music into the musical here and now, while the Finnish folk band Frigg indulges in »Nordgrass«. Aliosha Biz and Alexander Shevchenko join forces with Christiane Beinl and Andrej Prozorov to create a Viennese melange. The Bavarian band So&So, where folk music meets classical, hip-hop and reggae, also stirs things up musically. The Tanzhaus violinists and the Polish ensemble Tęgie Chłopy offer exuberant dance music. And boundless joy of playing reigns with the trio Diatonische Expeditionen and the quintet Baba Yaga, which combines Balkan tunes, klezmer, gypsy jazz and oriental (dance) music.
