Percussive Planet

Vivi Vassileva is the main protagonist of the »­Percussive Planet« cycle: With the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie under the direction of Stanislav Kochanovsky, the young German percussionist interprets Avner Dorman's percussion concerto »Frozen in time«, which was written for her mentor Martin Grubinger in 2007 and has since become a standard piece in the relevant repertoire. With Klangforum Wien, Vassileva can fulfill her long-cherished wish to present Unsuk Chin's double concerto for piano, percussion and ensemble at the Wiener Konzerthaus. The piano duo Ferhan & Ferzan Önder also pay homage to the combination of piano and percussion with the AlFa Duo, making their first guest appearance at the Wiener Konzerthaus. We are also looking forward to the witty and versatile ensemble Louie's Cage Percussion and the internationally successful Japanese taiko ensemble Kodo.
