With »string.« we are giving the next generation of top international quartets a platform: the Vienna-based Simply Quartet and the Berlin-based Leonkoro Quartet, winners of the Merito String Quartet Award 2022, were both taught and brought to mastery by members of the legendary Alban Berg Quartet, among others. They can already look back on numerous prizes and awards and are no longer unknown to chamber music audiences at the Wiener Konzerthaus. Last but not least, they are united by their extraordinary stage presence. On four compact evenings without an intermission, presented by the young musicians themselves, they will showcase their breathtakingly courageous and sensitive approach to milestones of the quartet literature.
