Description
Not only are the soloists in this cycle world-class, who delight an international audience with their artistry, but also the masterpieces they perform: The pianists Alexandra Dovgan and Khatia Buniatishvili will be taking romantic flights of fancy with the piano concertos by Clara and Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms; The violinists Maxim Vengerov and Joshua Bell, who will be performing with the Toyko Philharmonic Orchestra and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, will also be following in the footsteps of the Romantic period. Vadym Kholodenko, on the other hand, has dedicated himself to modernism with Prokofiev's 2nd Piano Concerto. One date is dedicated to the more intimate duo: Daniil Trifonov, one of the greats of the piano world, presents not only Beethoven's popular »Kreutzer Sonata« with Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider, but also sonatas and romances by Robert and Clara Schumann, among others.
