Breathtaking from the first to the last note - that's the sound of »Piano in the Mozart Hall«: Beatrice Rana opens an impressive series of pianists with Ravel's impressionistic piano triptych »Gaspard de la nuit«. Portrait artist Alexander Melnikov follows her with one of the most important cycles of modernism, Shostakovich's 24 Preludes and Fugues. Their ancestor and inspiration, Johann Sebastian Bach, is also prominently represented: Cycle debutante Polina Osetinskaya, praised for her thoughtfully designed programs, lets him have his say in virtuoso arrangements by master pianists of the early 20th century. Yunchan Lim, winner of the Van Cliburn Competition 2022, ascends the Olympus of the art of variation with Bach's »Goldberg Variations«. Filippo Gorini, like Lim a guest in the cycle for the first time, and Alice Sara Ott skillfully explore the clavieristic field of tension between classical, romantic and modern music.
