Matthias Kranebitter is launching a musical experiment exploring perception in an age of acoustic overload. A machine-based auditory system analyses ensemble sounds and everyday noises in real time. Inspired by the so-called »Cocktail Party Effect«, the apparent chaos of sound becomes a model for attention and selection.

Soumah’s »States of Intermeshing«
Corie Rose Soumah’s work combines sound and political reflection. It explores the interconnections between colonial history, apocalyptic discourses and contemporary power structures. Echoes of soul and R&B meet texts by Achille Mbembé. In this way, music becomes a space for memory, resistance and postcolonial liberation.

Vinczes »QUEE(n)R«
In »QUEE(n)R«, Davor Vincze uses »Bohemian Rhapsody« as the starting point for an open improvisation. Fragments of the original are deconstructed, recombined and kept in constant flux. Visually, AI image generators are used to highlight the ambiguity and queer potential of faces. The result is a play on identities and meanings – fluid, polyphonic and full of surprising twists.

New work by Koumará
Anew work by Georgia Koumará takes up many of the evening’s themes. The composer explores communication, empathy and power as dynamic forces. Musical processes develop, collide and transform one another. This sonic network of relationships makes social structures audible.
