Fireworks of artistry! Pianists Alexandre Kantorow and Bruce Liu have already climbed the musical Olympus in their twenties: in the best virtuoso tradition, they dedicate themselves to the monumental literature of their instrument with concertos by Brahms and Rachmaninoff. Spanish-born violinist María Dueñas has also dedicated herself to the 19th century: with Lalo's »Symphonie espagnole«, which led her to victory in the Yehudi Menuhin Competition. Tarmo Peltokoski, who delights both as conductor »of his« Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and as pianist – alongside Martin Helmchen –, combines his love of popular masterpieces with his expertise in Wagnerian drama. Portrait artist Augustin Hadelich and pianist Seong-Jin Cho celebrate the highest musicality as a duo. Patricia Kopatchinskaja's concert on the »Prometheus«-mythos with the Ensemble Resonanz will ensure sparks fly in the finale.
