The Art of Brass

»50 Jubilee: Happy Birthday« – »The Art of Brass« gets off to an exuberant start with the birthday celebration of trumpeter Thomas Gansch and his ensemble Gansch & Roses, which includes such prominent musicians as Randy Brecker, James Morrison and Peter Erskine. The Advent season will be festive with trumpeters Gábor Boldoczki and Sergei Nakariakov, who will present atmospheric Italian baroque music. The French-Lebanese trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf brings Arabic traditions into the present day with his 10-piece project »Trumpets of Michel-Ange«. The ensemble Federspiel, which has been an integral part of the European brass music scene for over twenty years, also moves between tradition and modernity. A top-class trio featuring Wolfgang Puschnig, Arkady Shilkloper and Jon Sass will be guests at the finale.
