The »Nouvelles Aventures« will take us to South-Eastern Europe: the first will be two closely related concerts with works by contemporary female composers from Croatia, Serbia, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey – once with the Ergon Ensemble from Athens, who will be guesting with us for the first time, and then with the larger ensemble of the RSO Wien. The second half of the season is dedicated to our honorary member György Ligeti, whose birthplace Dicsőszentmárton in Transylvania can also be attributed to South-Eastern Europe. Of course, Ligeti's work, which has given the cycle its name since 1997, must not be missed, interpreted by the Neue Vocalsolisten from Stuttgart. Bernhard Lang's fascinating paraphrase of Schubert's »Winterreise« is another vocal highlight.
