Company of Music
4 Konzerte im Mozart-Saal
Saalplan mit 6 und 4 Kategorien (Mozart-Saal)
To open the cycle, the Company of Music, Johannes Hiemetsberger and Nadja Kayali offer a fascinating panorama of contemporary vocal music from and about America. The ensemble will confront new and early music on the next two dates: »Das atmende Klarsein«, one of the key pieces by the late Luigi Nono on the way to his »Prometeo«, and the »Cantos de Sombras« by Germán Toro Pérez will meet Guillaume de Machaut's »Messe de Nostre Dame«, which is considered the earliest setting of the Ordinary of the Mass by a single composer. Gerald Resch adds a commissioned work to sacred works and madrigals by Claudio Monteverdi. As usual, each of these concerts will be preceded by a pre-concert by a youth choir coached by the Company of Music. Guests in the cycle include the celebrated a cappella octet VOCES8, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary with 20 songs from the 16th century to the present day.
